Ceremonial Kimono

The general’s Ceremonial Kimono dress, the yoroi hitatare, had less full sleeves and short trousers worn with leggings. Armor (yoroi) could be put on over it. The pictures below show the yoroi hitatare and the oyoroi donned by samurai when they were fully armed.
Kamakura Kimono for women
Rather than ostentatious multilayered kimono, women of the Kamakura Period wore, over hakama, what had been an undergarment, the Kosode.
