Do Japanese Men Wear Kimonos

Question: Is it fashionable for Japanese men to have a bumpy belly?
Hi everyone!
I was told that Japanese grooms had to wear a fake belly under the traditional wedding kimono if they had a flat stomach. Why is that? Is it just a tradition or do Japanese girls prefer plump men?
Any idea?
Thanks.
Answer: Japanese men's kimono style kind of settled into what it is today and stayed that way a long time ago...I went to say in the Edo period but I could be wrong. So basically, whatever was the style then is also the basis of kimono style now, and given how rigid kimono rules are it probably hasn't changed a lot. That said, it's not like these guys are walking around in huge fake beer bellies or anything. We're talking about adding something like a small folded hand towel to get the kimono and hakama to hang properly. It's definitely not a style when they wear their every day Western-style clothes.
