Do Japanese Wear Kimonos

do japanese wear kimonos
Question: when do japanese wear kimono?

for what ocassions?

Answer: Well, it depends on the person. Some like to wear kimono and will do so just for fun. Others will probably only wear kimono for major events like coming-of-age day (happens in January and all of the people who turned 20 since the last coming-of-age day celebrate it), New Year's Eve and/or Day, weddings, a child's first visit to the shrine, Shichi-go-san (a festival for kids who are seven, five, or three years old), weddings, and the like. People who practice traditional arts like dance, shamisen, or koto might also often wear kimono for performances.
