Japanese Girls Reading Coloring Page

Below is a picture of two Japanese girls reading books and wearing kimono. In this Japanese Girls reading coloring page, the Japanese girl on the left hand side is the daughter of the master of the house whereas the Japanese girl on the left hand side is the servant girl. One girl is trying to teach the other to read. It was common in old Japan that servant girls did not know how to read. Even the daughter of the master of the house usually did not go to school and learn to read.
