Japanese Kimono Culture

Question: Any idea of KIMONO?
Hi there!! Moshimoshi...
In 4 weeks times.. i do have a short presentation of japanese fashion of KIMONO...
Do any one can gif me some idea...
the definition(what is it),
the background(Elaboration of content for better understanding),
and the uniqueness(what is so special/significant)?
This is the main body of my presentation.. i do not need to do any POWERpoint.. is a 3 to 4mins presentation..i need some help from those who like japanese fashion on KiMONO.. Arigato... anyway in engish form..i m from singaporean learning japanese culture and language.. plz help me!!!
Answer: The definition of kimono just means clothing but it normally is a robe-like thing secured with a sash called an obi, and instead of pockets, the arms have a sort of pocket for storing things and sometimes the obi on the back can be used for a backpack. Would help you more, but thats all i can remember. You should check wikipedia for more info.

Question: Are there any department stores that sell barbie kimonos?
I need a little barbie kimono (japanese dress) for a school project of mine. I live in Canada, are there any stores that sell them? I dont want to buy online
it isnt an excuse! we are reading memoirs of a geisha in class and i need to make a diorama so i need a kimono!
Answer: Oh, yes, a "school project". I see. Try Toys R Us. (The 'R' is actually backward but I did not have a backward 'R' key on my keyboard. Anyway, the store featuring the backward 'R' is the one you want.)
