What is Japanese Yukata?
The Japanese yukata is an unlined cotton kimono. Traditional Japanese yukata robe was put on after coming out of a hot steaming bath. Nowadays, Japanese yukata is worn during the summer months particularly at the celebration of festivals.

Japanese yukata kimono designs give an impression of coolness and informality. Navy blue color on a white base or white color on a navy blue base are often seen. For young people, colorful yukata kimonos are common.
Under kimono for Yukata
Unlike other kimonos, the full length under kimono is not worn with the Japanese yukata kimono. Most of the time, the underwear under the Japanese yukata robe is made of cotton crepe.
The obi and geta sandals worn with Yukata kimono
The obi worn with Yukata kimono may be the Nagoya obi or the half width obi. Wooden geta sandals are worn instead of the tabi socks and zori sandals.
