Unlike other kimonos, the full length under kimono is not worn with the Japanese yukata kimono. Most of the time, the underwear  under the Japanese yukata robe is made of cotton crepe.

The obi worn with Yukata kimono may be the Nagoya obi or the half width obi. Wooden geta sandals are worn instead of the tabi socks and zori sandals.
