Japanese Kimono Children

japanese kimono children
Question: Can anyone tell me how much my child kimono is worth?

I can send pictures. I got it back about 1973 in Japan from my Japanese nanny. I can send pics. Just trying to find out how much it may be worth on Ebay.

Answer: Don't bother sending a picture, just put it up on something like Photobucket or ImageShack and post a link right in your question.

There are a lot of factors that influence the price of a kimono, such as the age and what condition it is in. Kimono old enough to be antiques (i.e. much older than from 1973) or kimono that are very new and in great shape are going to be worth more than kimono from the 1970s-1990s or that aren't in very good shape. Most of the children's kimono I have seen sell for well under $100, often going as low as $30 or less. A few go up to $150, and some very exceptional pieces can go over even that. If you're selling on eBay you might have a better chance of getting a slightly higher price if you photograph your piece well, explain all of the potential problems with it, and put it in the right category, but I really don't know how often children's kimono sell at all on places like eBay. Most kimono collectors I know are adults buying pieces for display or pieces to wear themselves.
